FIRST CORINTHIANS

A verse by verse study by
Dr. T.E. VanBuskirk.

The purpose of this class is to give you a comprehensive verse by verse understanding of the book of First Corinthians.  You will study, in detail, the teachings of the book and briefly touch upon some of the heresies so prevalent today that are in contradiction to the teachings of God as revealed through the Apostle Paul to the Corinthian Church and, by extension, to all churches from the first century to today and on until the coming of our Lord.

  • METHOD OF STUDY:
Student is required to read the text, "First Corinthians," by Dr. T.E. VanBuskirk and the book of First Corinthians in the Bible.  The student is required to look up and read all scriptures referenced in the textbook from the KJV Bible while completing the textbook.  There will be a final test at the end of the course.  Test will be open book.
There are no section tests in this course.  Blanks in the scriptures in the textbook are only there to make sure you look up every scripture reference in your KJV.

  • ATTENDANCE:
The entire course overall requires a minimum attendance of 18 weeks .
One (1) week per lesson (chapter)  is the official minimum attendance requirement.  This is what you will mark on your Begin and Finish Sign In forms.
Actual study.  Study approximately one chapter of First Corinthians per week both in the textbook and concurrently in the King James Bible.  Some chapters will take less than a week of actual study and some will take more.  One chapter per week is the average and that is the number you will enter on your forms.

  • CREDITS:  The Course is worth 3 credits.

  • GRADING: You Final Test grade will be your grade for the course.  The Final Test will include your verification that you have read the book of First Corinthians while studying the textbook, which is a requirement of the course..

  • SIGN-IN first for this course and mark the form "Begin" unless you have done so previously.  You do not sign in when you finish each lesson.  You only do so and mark the form "Finish" when you have completed the entire course and you are ready for the Final Test.

  • Download and print the COURSE RECORD FORM.  On it you will keep a record of your sign in "Begin" date because you will be required to enter it on the Sign In "Finish" form that you will submit at the end of the entire course.  You will also keep other pertinent information on that form such as date and score for each test so that you will be able to keep track of your progress through the course.

  • READ THE BIBLE BOOK OF FIRST CORINTHIANS- (KJV only) paralleling your textbook work.
You must read the entire book of First Corinthians in the Bible while completing your textbook; specifically looking up and reading in the KJV all scriptures referenced in the textbook.

    - Read and submit the Testing Instructions Agreement form if you have not already done so. If you have already submitted a Testing Instructions Agreement form, please do not submit another one.  Only one is required from each student.
    - Once you have completed all sections of the textbook, then submit a FINISH SIGN IN FORM for the course.
    - Once you have submitted the Finish form, then you may return to this page and Retrieve the Password.  Upon receiving the Password, take the Final Test for the course.
Once you pass the final test do not take it again.
If you miss any questions on the Final Test, even though you passed it, then you need to review the textbook and/or the book of I Corinthians in your Bible (whichever is appropriate for the questions you missed) and find the correct answers to the questions you missed.
If you fail the final test then you need to restudy the textbook and/or the book of I Corinthians in the Bible (whichever is appropriate for the questions you missed). Find the correct answers to all of the questions you missed on the Final Test, then retake the test. Repeat this process until you pass the Final Test and then follow the instructions above concerning any questions you may have missed.
ATTENTION:  If you fail the test, you MAY NOT attempt that test again on the same day.  You must restudy the textbook and your Bible and find all of the correct answers to the questions missed and then retake the test no sooner than the next day.
