Christian Character - PART THREE A.
PERSONAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (A)
(Originally
written as a study in Christian
Character for a Local Church Men's Group.)
ATTENTION: Although these lessons were originally written for a Men’s Group, they are useable as lessons for Women also. The Character Lessons themselves are based upon the character traits of Jesus Christ. Therefore, they are desirable traits for all Christians, including women. They are fully adaptable for your gender/sex; that is, they are useable whether you are male or female. Some mental adjustments need to be made concerning the use of the words “he... him... man... male... etc.” in the lessons. Adapt those words as needed if you are a woman instead of a man. Take note that the first couple of lessons give scientific facts specific to males with some references to females. These are still profitable to show the scientific differences between the sexes. - Doc Van
METHOD
OF STUDY:
1. Student
is required to read the text, "Character Development" by
Dr. T.E. VanBuskirk looking up and reading all
scriptures in your Bible that are referenced in the
textbook, whether or not those references are quoted in the lessons; and,
complete the Lesson Tests as you complete each of the Lessons in the
textbook.
2. Student
may not complete
more than one Lesson per week.
Even one lesson every two weeks is reasonable, given the depth of the
material. However, that is your choice. The minimum attendance
requirement, which you will input on your Begin Sign In Form, is 1
week per lesson.
3. There will be a final test at the end of the course. The Final Test will be open book.
ATTENDANCE:
Minimum attendance for the complete course is 22 weeks.
Minimum
attendance for each lesson in the course is 1 week.
Course is worth 2.5 credits.
TESTING:
Make sure you read and submit the Testing
Instructions form if you have not already
done so.
- Name entry on tests: Students
are required to use proper letter-case when inputting their names on all
submissions to the college. Example: If your name is John Smith, then
input John Smith, not john
smith or JOHN SMITH. If
you do not use proper letter-case when you input your name on a test, then
the test will be Disallowed and discarded.
- You may not take
more than one test in one subject on any one day. That includes
retakes of failed tests.
Failed Test If
you fail a test, you may not attempt
that test again on the same day. You must restudy the
textbook/workbook and find all of the correct answers to the questions
missed and then retake the test no sooner than the next day.
Section
tests
There are no section tests in this
course.
Section/lesson
reports
You
are required to submit a report at the end of each lesson. In the
report you will include what you "think" about the lesson and then
what you "feel" about the lesson. These reports do not need
to be lengthy. A simple paragraph or two concerning what you
"think" and a simple paragraph or two about what you
"feel" will be sufficient. Write the report in a
word-processor and attach the file to an email and send it to docvbk@saltlakebiblecollege.org.
Use the subject line: Christian Character Three (A) report for lesson
[include number of lesson here without the brackets]
Example Subject line: Christian Character Three (A) report for lesson 5
