Jesus said in John 14:27

'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.'

In this day and age people want to have peace in their lives. Lost jobs, broken relationships, financial crisis, death of a close friend or loved one, calamities, or an uncertain future can bring much grief, worry, and trouble. We cannot have true peace until we have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Many do not know that, because of their sin they do not have a relationship with Him. In fact, the Bible teaches that we are enemies of God because of our sin. Have you sinned? Have you ever lied, stolen, taken God's name in vain, disobeyed your parents, etc., then you have broken God's commandments and have sinned against Him. The Bible teaches that all have sinned (Romans 3:23).

To try to make peace with God by living a good life and doing good works does not work with God. Romans 10:1-4 shows that Israel had a zeal for God and went about establishing their own righteousness and did not submit to the righteousness of God. Matthew 7:22-23 shows that many will say to God on the day of judgment that they have done many wonderful works and God will have to send them away to a place of punishment because they did not have a relationship with Him.

The only way we can have peace with God is through trusting Jesus as our Savior. He already died in our place and took the punishment that we deserve for our sins. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). If we want peace in this life and a home in heaven, then we must confess with our mouth our sins to God, and believe that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead to give us the gift of eternal life.

A gift is never earned, but received. John 1:12-13 says,
'But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on him name; Which were born, not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.'

If we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, then we enter into a relationship with God by being born into His family. We actually become a son of God by a new spiritual birth.

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ, then call upon God in prayer. Say,
'Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe that Jesus died for my sins,
was buried, and rose again the third day. Please forgive me for my sins
(name them), and come into my life and save my soul. I now receive
the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.'

If you have prayed and received Jesus, we would like to hear about it. You now have peace with God and you need to grow in your new relationship with Him. Reading your Bible will help you grow as well as attending a good Bible preaching church. We would like to invite you to attend Lighthouse Baptist Church where you can 'Experience the Calm' that only God can give.
